About RLS Training
- Those diagnosed with RLS are encouraged to develop better eating habits. This includes avoiding caffeine and alcohol. Nutritional supplements may also be recommended to patients with underlying deficiencies.
- Clinical trials supporting the use of exercise regimen to manage symptoms include aerobic exercise, daily stretching and lower body resistance training that improves lower body muscular strength. Leg curls, leg extensions, squats, lunges and calf raises may all be tried.
- RLS patients should consult with a doctor before undertaking a particular training regimen. For example, attending yoga classes is a growing practice among RLS sufferers, but the effect of yoga on RLS is still unclear (as of 2010).
